Het Nederlands elftal kent een dramatisch eerste helft in de trootstfinale van de Nations League. Al binnen het half uur stond Oranje op een 0-2 achterstand in de Grolsch Veste tegen de B-keuze van Italië. Het was al het zoveelste tegendoelpunt in de tweede periode van Ronald Koeman, dat de roep om het 5-3-2-systeem van Louis van Gaal steeds luider begint te klinken.
