Jake Daniels is de komende tijd naar alle waarschijnlijkheid de meest besproken speler op de Engelse velden. De Blackpool-speler is maandagavond in een statement op de clubsite uitgekomen voor zijn homoseksualiteit. Daniels wist naar eigen zeggen al van jongs af aan dat hij homoseksueel is, maar hield zijn seksuele geaardheid lang verbogen. Daar heeft hij nu dus verandering in gebracht. Het nieuws is niet natuurlijk niet onopgemerkt gebleven. Vanuit alle hoeken van het Europese klinken lovende reacties. 'Je bent een inspiratie voor ons allemaal.'
