Paul Le Guen insisted he will not walk away from Rangers after the club plunged deeper into crisis on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman suffered his darkest hour since taking over the Ibrox helm when Gers were sent crashing out of the CIS Insurance Cup by St Johnstone. Sunday's defeat by Dundee United in the Bank of Scotland Premier League left them trailing leaders Celtic by 15 points, meaning the cup competitions represented their only real hope of silverware.
But, as furious fans demonstrated outside Ibrox, Le Guen vowed to fight on. He said: "I will try to carry on," he said. "I am the manager and it's up to me to come through this situation. I am worried but I was worried before the game. It's a difficult period but we must stick together, that is the only way to come through it. We have tried our best and we will carry on."
