Walter Smith admits he was thrilled to see Scotland defeat France and finally shed their image as glorious failures.
The 1-0 triumph over Les Bleus at Hampden Park allowed the Scots to maintain their 100% record in the European Championships qualifying campaign so far. They now sit top of Group B with a maximum of nine points thanks to a Gary Caldwell strike in the 67th minute.
"The table looks great for us after three games," Smith said. "The hope was that we would do well in the first couple of games and we did that."
