England crash to Croatia defeat

The honeymoon period is well and truly over for England coach Steve McClaren as his side crashed to a 2-0 defeat in Croatia in a European Championship qualifier.

A second half header from Eduardo Da Silva and a bizarre own goal from Gary Neville - after 'keeper Paul Robinson failed to connect with his harmless looking back-pass - settled the issue.

Wayne Rooney squandered England's best chance early in the second period but McClaren, who reverted from a 3-5-2 to a 4-4-2 formation, can have no complaints about the result.
