Craig Bellamy fears a return to the "bad old days" for Wales and admits his fledgling captaincy faces a test ahead of Wednesday's European Championship qualifier against Cyprus.
The Liverpool striker skippered his country for the first time in Saturday's 5-1 humiliation against Slovakia. It was Wales' heaviest home defeat for 98 years and Bellamy admits it was one of the lowest points of his career.
"Wales had a good few years under Mark Hughes when we sold out the stadium," he said. "It was really happening for us so I hope this is not a return to the bad old days for both our team and support."
