Newcastle United has put Kevin Bond, their assistant Manager on gardening leave in light of the Panorama scandal that has hit British football.
The BBC programme secretly recorded Bond while he was working with Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth. He appeared to admit that he would consider receiving illegal payments from an agent.
Reports suggest that Lee Clark will now be promoted to the role of Glen Roeder's second-in-command. However, Bond has vowed to fight the allegations, threatening to sue the BBC.
His solicitor David Price said: "The short extract from my client's conversation with the reporter was taken out of context and presented in a completely misleading manner."
