Alan Pardew insists West Ham did enough in Thursday night's 1-0 defeat to strike fear into Palermo heading into the second leg of their UEFA Cup first-round tie.
Palermo snatched victory with a controversial strike just before half-time, scored by Andrea Caracciolo while West Ham's players were appealing the ball had gone into touch.
"We have done enough so they will have some fear of us, even though they won," said Pardew. "I honestly believe that if a couple of breaks had gone our way we could have won or got away with a draw."
