Lee Hendrie has moved away from Villa Park in a loan deal to Stoke City. The Championship side have beaten off interest from Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace to land the 29-year-old.
The pugnacious midfielder has been at the Midlands side since his debut 11 years ago, and his good early form for the club even won him an England cap in 1998 against the Czech Republic.
However, since then, discipline problems, injuries and bad form have rocked his progress and he has not featured in Martin O'Neill's new look Villa side beyond a solitary substitute appearance.
Hendrie's undoubted pedigree should boost Stoke City, who are languishing in the Championship relegation zone, having won only one of their last nine games.
