Manchester City have failed in their attempt to overturn the red card given to Ousmane Dabo in the 1-0 defeat to Reading. A disciplinary committee upheld the decision and the French midfielder will now be suspended for three games.
Dabo was given his marching orders for an aerial challenge on Steve Sidwell, but Stuart Pearce said that the incident 'looked a bit harsh' and launched an appeal against referee Howard Webb's decision.
Following the failure of this appeal, the 29-year-old former Lazio player will miss matches against Blackburn and West Ham in the Premiership, and Chesterfield in the Carling Cup.
