Real Madrid defender Jonathon Woodgate has been told by his club that they want him to get regular first team football and that he is likely to return to the Premiership on a loan deal. Middlesbrough appear to be favourites after Real Madrid confirmed that they had made an enquiry about the former Newcastle man. Woodgate moved to Madrid in 2004 from Newcastle for £13.5 million and has only made nine appearances since then due to injury.
