Shittu joins Watford

Watford have completed the signing of defender Danny Shittu from QPR for an initial fee of 1.6million which could rise to 3million.

The 25-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with the Premiership newcomers and could make his Hornets debut in Tuesday's high-profile friendly against Inter Milan.

Shittu, who made more than 200 appearances for the west London side, had been the subject of a 1.5million bid from Coca-Cola Championship team West Brom earlier in the week before Watford's offer was accepted.
