Sheva: I'll stay on my feet

Chelsea's record signing Andriy Shevchenko is determined to ensure he will never suffer the same 'diver' taunts that blighted team-mate Didier Drogba last season.

Drogba was singled out for criticism by pundits, fans and opposing players last term when he was accused of diving and feigning injury during Chelsea's successful title defence. The Ivory Coast international was so stunned by the outcry over his antics that he was on the brink of leaving Stamford Bridge - claiming he no longer enjoyed football in England.

Shevchenko said: "I believe, especially here in England, I don't think the public like this kind of play. I've never done this in my whole life and I don't think I will ever do it."
