Spain midfielder Marcos Senna insists he is "content" at Villarreal, despite reported interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils, who completed the £18.6m (?27.24m) signing of Michael Carrick from Tottenham yesterday, are also thought to be keen to bolster their midfield ranks by acquiring Brazil-born Senna, 30.
Senna joined his Villarreal team-mates for pre-season training after the World Cup yesterday and told the club's website, villarrealcf.es: "I know they are negotiating my situation and I hope that it is fixed soon so I know what my future will be.
"Villarreal opened the doors to me and the truth is that here I am very contented.
"The squad is being reinforced very well with the arrival of Leandro Somoza, Cani and Robert Pires we have greater depth in midfield.
"I always said that my dream is to be able to win a title with this club, and this year is a great opportunity to obtain that."
