Beleaguered Sunderland manager Niall Quinn has promised the fans there will be an "influx" of new players this week, and also reiterated his desire to step down as Black Cats boss - whenever he can lure a suitable man to the Stadium of Light.
Quinn's dismal tenure continued on Saturday with a fourth straight defeat of the Coca-Cola Championship.
A comprehensive 3-1 reverse at the hands of unheralded Southend United - Sunderland's goal came from Jon Stead in injury time - left Quinn's men rooted to the foot of the Championship table.
And Quinn insists there will be a clear-out to eradicate the losing mentality at the club, and admits that he could also leave the dug-out behind him.
