Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome is facing a three-match ban after the club decided not to appeal against his red card during Saturday's win over Colchester.
Jerome, a 3million summer signing from Cardiff, had been introduced as a 65th-minute substitute by Blues boss Steve Bruce but within five minutes he was given his marching orders by referee Keith Stroud. He was dismissed for violent conduct after a clash with Colchester midfielder and skipper Karl Duguid.
Bruce felt the sending-off was harsh and initially claimed Birmingham would consider appealing against the decision. But after reviewing video evidence City have decided to accept the decision and Jerome will miss Wednesday's clash with Sunderland and the following games with Stoke and Crystal Palace.
