Tottenham manager Martin Jol insists he harbours no ill-feelings towards Michael Carrick over the midfielder's 18.6million move to Manchester United.
Carrick and United were putting the finishing touches to the deal on Monday after the England player agreed personal terms and undertook a medical at Old Trafford. But Jol, who had previously called on the player to show some loyalty and remain at Tottenham, stressed that he does not feel let down by Carrick's decision to quit the club.
Jol declared: "I don't feel let down. Michael was always a terrific servant for this club. He never moaned, even when we said he had to stay a couple of weeks ago. United is a terrific club and they had to compensate us in the end."
