Formation wrecking Reyes hopes

Arsenal winger Jose Antonio Reyes is pushing for a spot in Spain's starting XI for the World Cup - but he admits the team's current formation is making it difficult for him to secure a place.

The former Sevilla wideman has performed well in the last two friendlies, against Russia and Egypt, and curled home a brilliant free-kick against the African Nations Cup champions. Luis Aragones' preferred 3-4-3 formation has seen wingers Reyes and Joaquin marginalised but the performances of the Gunners star are making it hard for the coach to continue leaving him out.

"Of course the style is not good for me or for any other wide players," said Reyes. "We have had this system for the last two weeks and we have to get used to it as soon as possible, although it is tough for wingers."
