Dervitte signs for Spurs

Tottenham coach Martin Jol has promised even more new signings as the club unveiled the capture of France Under-18 defender Dorian Dervitte from Lille.

The move will be completed at the start of next month and Dervitte will join up with the club's development squad at the start of the season. Dervitte made nine appearances for France Under-17s and played in all six of their European Under-17 Championship qualifiers in the 2004-05 season.

Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli said: "At 6ft 4in, Dorian is a tall, strong defender with excellent technical skills. We believe he comes to us with enormous potential for the future."
