Argentina midfielder Esteban Cambiasso insists his outstanding goal in the 6-0 thrashing of Serbia and Montenegro on Friday was not a patch on Diego Maradona's individual effort in the World Cup 20 years ago.

Cambiasso was on hand to finish off a flowing move, that saw the Argentinians string together 26 passes in 56 seconds for their second goal of the game. Despite being thrilled to have scored one of the best goals in the tournament's history, the 25-year-old Cambiasso was quick to play down comparisons with Maradona's memorable strike against England in the World Cup quarter-finals in 1986.

"After Diego's goal against England, I do not think that another goal could surpass that one. The goal of Diego was 10 times better than my goal," said Cambiasso.
