Sven-Goran Eriksson hailed David Beckham's brilliance after the England captain inspired a 3-1 win against Hungary in a World Cup warm-up at Old Trafford.
Beckham created goals for Steven Gerrard and John Terry and caused the visitors numerous problems with his pinpoint crosses. Eriksson said the display underlined Beckham's unique value - and made him bewildered that his captain should come in for such criticism.
The England head coach said: "What can I say about David Beckham - I have never ever understood the critics about him. The assists he has you cannot find anywhere in all the world."
