Players feeling the pressure - Phillips

1 mei 2006, 12:05

Striker Kevin Phillips has insisted Aston Villa's players as well as manager David O'Leary are under pressure after a dismal Premiership campaign.

Villa still have one game to play against Sunderland but are doomed to their lowest ever Premiership points tally and worst home record. Phillips knows the future of members of the squad could also be at stake and believes some players will be offloaded in the summer.

"Fans may call for the manager's head but we're all in this together," he said. "As players, we're all playing for our futures because we're in a results-driven business and results haven't been good enough. I've no doubt players will leave in the summer."
