Michael Owen will be looking to step up his bid to be fit to spearhead England's World Cup campaign after successfully coming through a first training session with the national side at their training camp in Portugal.
The Newcastle striker has been sidelined for the past five months since fracturing a metatarsal during a collision with Tottenham and England keeper Paul Robinson at White Hart Lane.
But Owen showed no ill effects and took part in a full session after putting on an England shirt for the first time since his double strike in the 3-2 win over Argentina in Geneva in early November.
