Fernando Morientes has been left out of Spain's 23-man squad for this summer's World Cup finals.
The Liverpool striker, who played in the last two World Cups and has been a regular in the national team since 1998, will not travel to Germany, with coach Luis Aragones deciding instead to take an extra defender, Valencia's Carlos Marchena.
Aragones will take just four strikers to the showpiece - Jose Antonio Reyes, Fernando Torres, Raul and David Villa.
