Birmingham captain Kenny Cunningham may extend his contract with the midland club. It was likely that the former Irish captain may leave the club during the summer. However its now reported that Steve Bruce wants to retain the services of his centre half for next yers campain. "I have spoken to all of the players," said Bruce. "As a manager you have to do that face to face rather than through the media. The only one I am having a conversation with is Kenny Cunningham. Talks are ongoing with him and we'll see what happens after that."

The last straw for some of his squad came before Sunday's final day clash with Bolton Wanderers, when, Bruce alleges, certain players refused to play in the game.
