Wenger reveals reasons for Barca trip

Arsene Wenger hopes a last-minute scouting trip to Barcelona may just have given him a few pointers for next month's Champions League final.

The Arsenal manager had initially intended not to swiftly return to Spain last week following his side's goalless draw with Villarreal, which secured safe passage to Paris on May 17.

However, Wenger revealed: "I changed my mind for one simple reason. I saw the programme of Barcelona and if they qualified (for the Champions League), Barcelona may be in a position where they never play with the same team they would against us because they are nearly champions, and can decide to do after what they want."
