Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has called for the feel-good factor to be restored at the City of Manchester stadium.
Pearce, who has been nominated for the England job, has seen his side suffer four defeats in their last five games, a slump that has seen them crash out of competition for the European places.
However, Pearce is hoping that City can improve their recent results, starting at home to Middlesbrough on Sunday.
"This is a big game for us. We need to fire the club back and get that feel-good factor among the fans. We can't afford the season just to peter out and go into summer on the back of a bad run, timing is everything."
Pearce also admitted that a win would restore the players confidence for the climax of the season.
"Things can change with one result depending on people's perception. A win would put a feel-good factor straight back into the players."
