Aston Villa manager David O'Leary has admitted that his side have not been good enough this season and that it has been a failure for the Midlands side.
Villa find themselves 15th in the league this year and failed to progress to any respectable stage in any cup competitions. This campaign for the club has been statistically the worst in the clubs Premiership history only managing to narrowly avoid relegation. In recent weeks the boss has been criticised by some of the Villa faithful calling for his head.
"I don't like where we are because I want to do more for the fans and for myslef." he told Sky Sports News. "I've been here and had the club in the top half, up there. Yes, Everton have been up there, down, and then bounced back but I don't want to be like that." He evaluated this season by stating "I want to consistently push this club into the top half of the table. We've failed this season. It's been frustrating, the fans are frustrated and I totally understand them. It's been the same for me."
