Reading striker Kevin Doyle has been named fans player of the year by the PFA. This latest reward comes after a superb season for the Irish International. Only 12 months ago, Doyle was still plying his trade in the eircom League, but since making the switch to the Madejski Stadium during last summer.
Doyle has scored 16 goals for the club as they gained promotion to the Premiership for the first time in their history, while he also earned his first international cap for Ireland and admits that it still all feels unreal.
"If next season goes just ten per cent as well as this one, I will be happy. Now we want to survive in the Premiership. It can be done. Finishing above the bottom three will be a success. But who knows, we could even get into Europe."
