Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has reinforced the managers plans to sign three new players this summer and his desire to wrap a deal for Michael Ballack before the World Cup.
Mourinho is reportedly targeting one defender, one midfielder and one striker to improve his squad in the summer but there appears to be no drastic changes in the pipeline. The midfielder of the trio of targets is very likely to be Michael Ballack who will leave Bayern Munich in the summer on a free transfer. Kenyon was happy to offer an update on Chelsea's transfer plans.
"It will be three in and three out," Kenyon told BBC Radio Five Live. "One of those is clearly Michael Ballack and we hope we can get that done before the World Cup. We can improve, we need to improve and we will improve, but we're talking about improving what is already a fantastic squad. It is not easy."
