Manchester United chief executive David Gill says he is confident of agreeing a sponsorship deal by summertime, as talks between United and Mansion broke down during the week.
Mansion were set to take over from Vodafone, as the shirt sponsors, however talks soon ended, as reports claimed United were interested with another company. The deal would have been worth around £70 million.
However, executive David Gill assures fans he did not agree to the deal. "At the end of the day, they chose to go public. I think if you look at the facts behind what they said, we clearly didn't agree to an exclusivity period," Gill told Sky Sports News.
Gill remains confident that he will get Manchester United the best sponsorship deal in their entire history.
"We're very comfortable that we dealt with it very appropriately and we believe we will be announcing a deal that is seen to be the best deal for the club. It's important to know it's only the third sponsors in the history of Manchester United so we've got to do the best deal for the club."
