Fulham aim to Bridge the gap

Fulham manager Chris Coleman has exspressed his desire to turn, England international, Wayne Bridge's loan contract into a permanent one but insists the ball is firmly in Chelsea's court.

The former Southampton man has impressed whilst on loan at neighbour club Fulham but is expected to rejoin the champions in the summer. Asier del Horno's arrival this summer put the 25-year-olds place at the club in jeopardy and he failed to get a run of games under his belt this season at Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard has failed to really impress in London though and it is rumoured that Jose Mourinho will be in the market for the same position again.

"He's part of the guys and  fitted in well in the dressing room," said Coleman. "I don't know if I can get him but I would love to. But that decision will be made by Chelsea. Mourinho is a very big fan of Coleman's but will he do his opposite number a favour this summer?
