Arsenal warmed up for their Champions League trip to Juventus in magnificent style with a crushing 5-0 victory over an inept Aston Villa.
Arsene Wenger's team were two goals in front at half-time thanks to an Aaron Hughes own goal and a Thierry Henry strike, and they added three more after the break through a stunning Henry effort and further goals from substitutes Robin van Persie and Abou Diaby.
Arsenal had the first attempt on goal in the seventh minute, but they were guilty of being too elaborate. Philippe Senderos released Jose Antonio Reyes down the left, allowing the Spaniard to cut the ball back to the unmarked Henry, who lost his footing.
