Samuel Eto'o's goal in the dying minutes last night against Benfica clinched a place in the semi-finals. The Cameroon striker at FC Barcelona is pleased with the result but knows that the job isn't finished yet.
True to their current philosophy, the Barca players are already looking ahead to the next game a league clash against Racing. Before travelling to the San Siro, they also have to receive Villarreal in the Nou Camp. According to Eto'o: "If we win the two matches, we will have clinched the league title". The players are happy to have reached the CL semi-finals but they want to guarantee the two titles.
He furthermore said: "You shouldn't talk about Eto'o's goal or Ronnie's goal. They're Barca goals. What counts is the win for Barca. It wasn't my best game in recent months. Other days I've been better on the wings though people say these things because I scored".
"In the first leg we played really well though we didn't take our chances. Today we worked hard and here we are. Thank God we qualified for the semi-finals. All the opponents in the semi-finals deserve the same respect".
"The victory was fair though there was a lot of nervousness because we knew that a goal would make things very difficult for us".
"We have to take the next match against Racing with a lot of respect and care because if we win the next games we will have clinched the league title. We have to be able to change our mentality do things well in the league and the Champions League. I hope the final of the Champions League is a Spanish affair because we have them nearby and we play the league with them."
