Current England coach Sven Goran Eriksson has said that youngster and Premiership revelation Aaron Lennon will get his chance to play on the international scene in the future.

The 19-year-old winger has had a superb debut season with Tottenham seeing him nominated for the PFA young player of the year award won by Wayne Rooney this week. His dazzling runs and electrifying pace have seen him linked with an outside chance of a World Cup place although it may come to soon. Tottenham will be delighted with their summer signing having signed his future to the club in a new contract recently.

"Well, he's one of those knocking on the door, he's playing better and better" Eriksson told Sky Sports News. The Swede has been to many of Spurs' games this season due to their wide array of English talent and has been taking note of Lennon's performances. "I saw him twice and went to see him on Saturday again. He's young, if he's not going to the World Cup, I'm sure he will play for England one day."
