Wigan revelation Pascal Chimbonda, who joined from Bastia last summer has stated that he will be allowed to leave the club if a big offer comes in for him. This has fueled reports that the defender is searching for a bigger club to play for after an excellent first season for the Latics.
Wigan pounced early at the chance to offer the 27 year old a new 4 year deal just months after joining the club. Despite this long term contract he is under with the club, Chimbonda claims that an agreement is in place between himself and Paul Jewell, which would allow him to leave the club should a good offer on behalf of the player and the club come in.
The player told the Mirror, "I didn't want to prolong my contact because the buyout clause was low, but the manager promised to let me go at the end of the season if a big offer comes in,", he claims. "I keep hearing about interest in me but I have had no direct contact. For now, I will finish the season at Wigan and will be at the start of pre-season training on June 10."
