Campbell: Dream 'kept me going'

6 april 2006, 15:24

Sol Campbell has revealed his World Cup dream "helped to keep me going" during his two-month absence from the Arsenal team.

Campbell, 31, has not played for the Gunners since the defeat by West Ham on February 1 when he left Highbury at half-time after the last in a series of disappointing displays. Off-field issues and injuries have delayed his comeback but he is set to feature in the Barclays Premiership showdown with Manchester United this weekend.

"The last couple of months? I am relaxed about the situation. Everything is sorted now," Campbell told the London Evening Standard. "I have had a couple of injuries that have held be back and that is annoying. Now I just want to play football."
