Friday announced the capture of Wigan's battling midfielder Jimmy Bullard on Friday for a fee of around £2.5 million.
The unexpected move sees Bullard move to a club 6 places below Wigan in the table but the 27-year-old showed no hesitation in signing a 4 year deal at Craven Cottage. The deal was believed to be struck due to a minimum fee release clause in the players contract for roughly that amount. Wigan boss Paul Jewell was keen to keep hold of one of his key men but was powerless to prevent the move.
Bullard came up through the ranks with Wigan and had an unbelieveable record of appearing in everyone of their league games for almost 3 seasons straight. The Englishman who has been deemed eligable to play for Germany in the World Cup if given the chance has been instrumental in the Latics surprisingly high finish in the league standings. Fulham will recieve the player on May 8 when the transfer window reopens but for now he stays with Wigan.
