Steve Bruce has hailed long-serving defender Olivier Tebily as the catalyst behind Birmingham's recent revival ahead of Sunday's Premiership derby at Aston Villa.
Former Celtic star Tebily was initially brought into the side in place of the injured Mario Melchiot but his performances against Chelsea, Bolton and Wigan mean the Dutchman has been unable to earn a recall.
Bruce said: "The ball is in Tebily's court because he has put together three performances which would mean it is impossible for me to leave him out. If ever we needed someone to give us a huge lift, then his performance in the first 25 minutes against Chelsea did that to everyone in the ground."
