This evening FC Barcelona will face Benfica at their Camp Nou stadium. FC Barcelona's Frank Rijkaard is clear as to the task facing his team against Benfica: "we have to do our job, enjoy the game and not think negatively". The Barca boss also expressed himself cautious about the role of favourite in the game.
Rijkaard struck a familiar chord, despite the importance of tonight's game: "I just want the team to do what we always do: do our job, enjoy ourselves and stay positive. It's important to feel the excitement and expectation that all our fans are feeling and the team are as focussed and determined to win as they always are".
Not worried about goal drought
Barça may have been finding it hard to score of late, but Rijkaard insisted: "we are a high scoring team. If you play direct and efficient football, chances will come. We don't need to go out and change things, we know how to score. Not getting many in the last three games should be an extra motivation for us".
Echoing his opposite number Ronald Koeman, Rijkaard declared himself: "relaxed" ahead of the game, whilst admitting: "we may be favourites, but it's not going to be easy to beat Benfica, they will be well organised at the back and they have players who can hurt you, but we often play against teams who come here to counter attack".
