AC Milan striker Andrei Shevchenko has expressed his anger of being linked with a move to Premiership champions Chelsea.

Roman Abromavich, the Chelsea chairman, has said in the past that Shevchenko is one of his favourite players, and to bring him to Stamford Bridge would fill in another ambition.

"I am annoyed by the Chelsea rumours. I have three years remaining on my contract. Today, I only think about Milan and ending the season in the best way," the striker told L'Equipe.

However, the striker also expressed his delight at guiding his home country of Ukraine to the World Cup finals this summer.

"Would I like to become a 'Milanist' for my whole life, like Franco Baresi or Paolo Maldini? Yes. But I would never give up a national cap for money. Even if I play for a club I love, I am and will remain a Ukrainian."
