Make or break for Addicks

Chris Powell believes Thursday night's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Middlesbrough could make or break Charlton's season. With a terrible run of form in the Barclays Premiership towards the end of last year having all but ended the chances of a top-six finish, the Addicks' hopes of securing European football now hang on whether they can make it to the Millennium Stadium in May. Veteran full-back Powell says the Charlton squad are under no illusions over the importance of keeping that dream alive.

He said: "We all know our season is now based on this quarter-final. We have not been this far for a number of years - and if we manage to overcome Middlesbrough it will be the first time we have been in the semi-finals since 1947."
