Tottenham striker Robbie Keane has signed a new deal that will keep him at White Hart Lane for the next 4 years.
Keane, who is now the captain of the Republic of Ireland squad, emerged as a key player for Martin Jol's team as they aim to be in Europe next season.
He has impressed so much that England star Jermain Defoe has been waiting anxiously on the bench as Keane partnered Mido in attack.
"You've got me for another four years!" Keane told the official Spurs site. It is something that has been going on for a while, I am just happy it is now signed and I can look forward to a good future with Tottenham," added the 25-year-old.
"This is a club that is going places, I believe that and it is the reason why I signed here from Leeds in the first place. I had the feeling it was a club going in the right direction and I still believe this, especially with how the team are doing and the quality of players that have been bought in," said Keane, who remains positive that he has done the right thing.
