Tottenham coach Martin Jol insists Jermain Defoe has no reason to fear the England axe.
Defoe admitted earlier this week that he feared he was running out of time to convince England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson to include him in his World Cup squad this summer. Defoe has spend much of the season on the sidelines while Jol has persisted with Egypt striker Mido and Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane as his first-choice pairing in attack.
"It has always been obvious to me that Jermain is mentally strong," said Jol. "But there is another problem and that is the England team but as I've said, it is not our problem."
