Fans remain disturbed

David O'Leary remains resolute and says he will not be affected by the banners draped on the Holt End calling for him to quit.

Aston Villa fan's had called for O'Leary's head after the 4-1 defeat at the hand's of the Toffees, but the majority of today's 32,000 strong Villa supporters continued to back there manager and club. A few supporters decided to show their anger as they draped a banner calling for O'Leary to quit the Midland's club.

O'Leary said: "I have been told about the banners. That comes with football now. It can happen to any of us at any time.

"There were 32,000 people in the ground and the vast majority of those people like myself want to take Aston Villa forward. 

O'Leary admitted "It was a nervy and scrappy game but I was happy that we improved defensibly on the performance at Everton."

O'Leary found time to praise his team on the draw especially praising Liam Ridgewell. "I thought Liam Ridgewell played very well at the back. He was very strong indeed."
