Premiership champions Chelsea today made an appeal against the red card given to Arjen Robben.
The Holland star was shown the red card after diving in at the feet of West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jonathan Greening.
Both sets of players surrounded referee Mark Halsey during the incident, of which Robben was sent off. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho then clapped his hands sarcastically towards the players.
Mourinho had been involved in an earlier incident involving West Brom boss Bryan Robson, and this infuriated the Blues boss even more.
"Chelsea have notified The FA of their intention to claim for wrongful dismissal in relation to the sending-off of Arjen Robben for serious foul play against West Bromwich Albion on March 4. The case will be heard by a disciplinary commission on Tuesday," an official FA statement said.
