Newcastle United midfielder Kieron Dyer has stated that his chance of being selected for the England squad is over. Dyer has missed most of the season through illness and injury and looks certain to be out of the squad going to Germany in June.

Kieron Dyer has today claimed his world cup dreams are over. The 27 Year old midfielder has missed alot of the current season through injury and has now suffered another setback just weeks after he had returned.

Although he will return before the end of the season, Dyer feels his chance of making germany have disapeared.

"I will not be there" He told The Times "Sven knows his team and 23 of his squad"

Caretaker Manager Glen Roeder has confirmed dyer's injury would see him sidelined for three weeks.

"It was a bit of a setback for him, of course it is, because he worked so hard to get into the squad on saturday"

"We are remaning very positive that in no longer than three weeks we will see Dyer out training hard and flying game"

With Sven giving Darren Bent a last chance to prove himself for the world cup maybe Kieron Dyer will feel a bit more positive of there being a chance to force his way into the england squad.
